Plein Air on the Yellowstone
In August of 2022 I participated in the Plein Air Painting on the Yellowstone hosted by the Livingston Center for Art and Culture. 60 Artists spent the week painting outdoors all around Park County.
My friend, Artist Wilson Wyllie and I were interviewed by BBC Radio Producer Victoria Ferran. Wilson had the idea of us all getting up at 5 o’clock in the morning to paint the sunrise and talk together. Victoria is an excellent interviewer and I’m still thinking about some of the questions she asked and letting the memory of our conversation shape the direction my work is taking now. Victoria’s enthusiasm for having our painting process described was exciting and I’m hoping to find a way to share more of my experiences in this format in the future.
Plein Air on the Yellowstone was judged this year by Bozeman Artist Jake Gaedtke. I was thrilled to receive an Honorable Mention for one of my pieces.
